I. Determining theMacOS System Version

1. Close all programs
2. Go under the Apple Menu to "About this Macintosh"
(System 7.6 and above is "About this Computer").
3. Check beside "System Software" to determine the version.
System 7.5.2 is unsupported.  If they havethis version, they will need to
contact Apple Computer to get the 7.5.3 Update (orhigher)

Explanation: The reason we don't support System7.5.2 is,
in the TCP/IP control panel, 7.5.2 does not havethe option
to set the Configure box to "Using PPP Server".
    --Apple Computer, Inc. doesn't even support System7.5.2;
they must get the updatefrom Apple

II. Determining how much RAM is used/free

1. Close all programs
2. Go under the Apple Menu to "About this Macintosh"
(System 7.6 and above is "About this Computer")

This will show you all programs that are open, and how much RAM eachis using:

--Built-In Memory: Thetotal amount of physical RAM the Mac has
--Total Memory: Thetotal amount of RAM the computer has to use.
This numberwill be higher if they have Virtual Memory on, in which
case itwill say for example "7,000K used as RAM on hard disk").
If this"...used as RAM on hard disk" message is not there, and Total Memory
is higherthan Built-In Memory, then they probably have RAM Doubler
       or someother RAM-Raising software installed.
